First Orgasm

First Period.

I got my first period the summer I turned 11 on a very long car trip to rural Indiana to visit my grandmother. We went in my dad’s station wagon which had a fold-up seat in the trunk. I liked that seat because it was kind of unique and I could watch drivers while on the road. I normally don’t get carsick, but that day I felt really awful and crampy (only I didn’t know what cramping was then).

At a rest stop I went to the bathroom to discover blood on my underwear. I knew it was my period because I had read the book Are You There, God? It’s Me Margaret and they describe one of the characters getting her period in it. I was too embarrassed to tell my mom what was going on, so I made a makeshift pad out of toilet paper and rummaged through her travel bag at the hotel for pads to wear. I didn’t tell her until a year later when she found a pair of my bloodied undies in my laundry.

First Period

I was in Summer School for Gym, about twelve or thirteen. When I was getting back in from running, my inner thighs felt sticky. So I went to the bathroom, pulled down my pants and wanted to scream. Luckily my mother had informed me about periods and how it’s natural, but there was so much blood, I freaked.

There was blood down my legs, and panties were soaked. I cleaned up, hurried down the hallway to the nurse and asked to call my mom.

Me - “It’s here.”

Mom - “It?”

Me - “IT! It’s here! Come here please!”

…

Mom - “Oh! Okay, be right there.”

She came to the office and I changed into a pad. I didn’t want to go back to school, so she took me home. Interesting fact? I started my first period on my parent’s wedding anniversary.

I was eight years old, and we had JUST had “the period talk” at school like a day or two before, so all of the girls were being all giggly and curious about menstruation. 

After going to the bathroom at school, I saw the blood and instantly yelled for my best friend. She didn’t believe me, she had to look herself, haha. After that it was a huge thing and everyone knew because I was the “first one”.

Too embarrassed to tell my mom, I ended up throwing my bloodied underwear in the neighboring canal when I got home. She ended up finding out later anyways, and I was still super insecure about it.

My first period was a Christmas present

I got my first period two days after Christmas of 2005. It was, like, 3am and I was playing the Sims and I thought I’d peed myself because I felt something going on down there. Nope. Just blood. I didn’t tell my grandma until after New Year’s because I wanted to be 100% sure that it was my period. What else could it have been?

She took me to get ice cream.
