so apparently this justifies incest? -.- smh. i’m sorry, but you shouldn’t speak up about something like this unless you’ve actually experienced it. why don’t you ask my mum how awesome taking therapy for the rest of her life was and how damaged she was by it. seriously? how ignorant can the world be today. >_<
I’m talking about CONSENSUAL incest, not rape. BIIIIG difference.
Either way it doesn’t make a difference! Think about it! If it was right everyone would be doing it. So birth defects don’t show until after a few generations, that makes it right? No. I’m sorry but I usually love how open and accepting you are but this simply crosses the line! It just..even if It’s consensual what happens when it doesn’t work out? Family is about..having someone to protect you and care for you no matter what position in the family they are whether they’re a cousin, parent, sibling, etc. It’s just wrong! There’s people we have to keep our boundaries with. Why? Because we always need people who can be there for us no matter what. When you bring incest in to a family relationship it completely butchers it forever. If it doesn’t work out, you’re stuck with that person, and the shame from your family.
That might be the way in some people’s family but a lot of people I know (myself included) don’t rely on our family to be there for us no matter what. Also, like I stated, a lot of the instances of incest I’ve seen are from people who meet each other later on in life. Yeah it could break apart a family, but so can coming out as gay or trans or a certain religion or any number of things. I have a family member who was in love with another family member and yeah they had to stop seeing eachother because they knew they couldn’t be open about their relationship. So who’s in the wrong, the two people in love or the family that wouldn’t support them?
