Anonymous asked: How can I get my classmates to stop gossiping about what (and who) other people may or may not be doing sexually, especially since the people being discussed aren't there? They're really disrespectful and slut-shame-y about it, and it's starting to piss me off.
I hate having to listen to gossip in the classroom, so I feel you. It’s really difficult to get a person to stop gossiping unless you really want to give them a huge speech about how it’s none of their business who sleeps with who and it doesn’t change who they are as a person and only people who can’t seem to get their own lives talk about others… but this could just make them want to talk about you. I usually contented myself with fantasizing of chewing them out and maybe beating them up a bit.
