Leaving this here for any interested parties because it is so insightful and eloquent and well worth a read. When I got to the end I felt really uplifted, not because of any particular note it finished on, but because it seems impossible that someone could get to a place where they’ve harnessed the kind of self awareness she demonstrated in her writing without it helping her feel a little healing. Sometimes I think, when I haven’t slept for a day or two, sitting down and writing and writing and writing for hours until you hit something really true is the only thing that allows me to feel like the wound is closing, even if it doesn’t last all that long.
